POE-g-MAH

Product description

POE-g-MAH series products are maleic anhydride functionalized polyolefin elastomers, which are mainly used in PA modification. POE-g-MAH has good reactivity with nylon and can be uniformly dispersed in nylon to form a sea-island structure. It has a toughening effect, and its extremely low glass transition temperature also has a good performance in ultra-low temperature toughening of nylon.

Typical application

1. Nylon toughening reinforcement

2. Nylon composite filling

3. Nylon, polypropylene, polyethylene mixed with gold compatibilizer

Product information

POE-g-MAH (POE grafted maleic anhydride) is obtained by grafting highly reactive maleic anhydride (MAH) monomer by reactive extrusion with POE elastomer as matrix. POE-g-MAH can be used as a good toughening agent and compatibilizer. Its toughening effect is better than that of pure POE without grafting. It is suitable for PA, PP, PE, PC, ABS, PET, PBT, etc. Compatibility and toughening of its alloy materials.

The methods of POE-g-MAH

POE is a random copolymer elastomer of ethylene and high-carbon α-olefins (1-butene, 1-hexene, 1-octene, etc.) catalyzed by metallocene catalysts. It has excellent mechanical properties, rheological properties and UV light resistance. In addition, POE also has the advantages of good affinity with polyolefins and good low temperature toughness, and is widely used in the toughening and modification of non-polar polymers such as polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE).

POE is a non-polar elastomer with poor compatibility with polar materials, which is not conducive to the modification and reinforcement of polar polymers such as polyamide (PA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The common practice is to first carry out graft modification on POE, and graft low molecular weight compounds containing polar functional groups on the macromolecules, thereby changing the polarity of the POE molecular chain and improving its compatibility with polar polymers. , so that it can be applied to the modification of polar polymers. Commonly used grafting monomers for POE are maleic anhydride (MAH), glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), methacrylic acid (MAA), acrylic acid (AA) and the like.

Scope of application

POE-g-MAH is the most widely used POE graft at present. It has achieved obvious results in the research on toughening of polymer materials. The graft has excellent performance and is widely used in automotive, electronic appliances, rail transit and other terminal industries. , the industry prospect is very broad. In the future, as the market trend of “replacing wood with plastic” and “replacing steel with plastic” becomes more and more obvious, the high-performance plastics industry will develop rapidly, which will also stimulate the continuous expansion of the POE-g-MAH market space. The MAH industry will usher in good development opportunities.

POE-g-MAH (POE grafted maleic anhydride) is a random styrene-acrylonitrile-glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer with a white and transparent particulate appearance.
