Coace® W500 è un elastomero poliolefinico modificato con glicidilmetacrilato ad alto tasso di innesto.

The toughener is a specialised polymer with a high grafting rate of reactive groups that is used to increase the toughness of polyester composites. The toughener works by uniformly spreading through the polyester mix and establishing cross-links with the polymer chains. This technique improves energy dissipation upon impact, reducing crack propagation and increasing overall toughness.

Applicazione tipica

To be used as a toughener for polyester and the fire retardant filled polyester, eg. PET, PBT, PET/FR, PBT/FR and other polyester compounds.

To be used as a compatibilizer for polyolefin and polyester alloys.

To be used as an adhesive for some laminate structures.

Applicazione Industria

Polyester Resin Modification: The toughener can be mixed directly into polyester resin compositions throughout the manufacturing process. The suggested dosage is normally between 2% and 5% by weight of polyester.

Composite Materials: The toughener is used to reinforce polyester-based composites, enhancing their mechanical qualities for use in marine, aerospace, and consumer products.

Injection Moulding: Polyester compounds including toughener are ideal for injection moulding processes, resulting in tough and durable parts for a variety of industries.
